On occasion of the *World Health Day.*(7th April)
Topic:- *Health is Wealth*
A very good morning to one and all.Respected chairperson , Mr/Mrs........, honourable chief guest, respected teachers and my dear friends .Today ,we are celebrating the World Health Day. Why is this day celebrated on the 7th April?
Yes, this day is celebrated to commemorate the anniversary of the foundation of WHO (World Health Organization).It was founded on 7th April 1948.
So,this day is celebrated every year to draw the attention to a specific Health topic of people and create awareness among them.
Well, we are very much familiar with the proverb *Health is wealth* Why it is said so? yes , because *Health* is the most significant wealth, not money. Once we can survive without money, but can't survive without good health. We can't buy good health by spending money, but we can care of it or cure it. If the person is not having good health, he/ she will not be able to enjoy the fullest life.
Friends , today we find many sorts of health issues such as Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Heart problem and so on. Why? yes because, our life style has been changed, food habit has been changed.
In the past people's needs were limited. So, they used to live peaceful, stressfree life.Their food habits were quite different from us. They got fresh ,naturally ripened fruits and fresh vegetables or organic products.They didn't have vehicles as we have today , so they used to walk several miles.It means they used to do physical exercise by walking or cycling .But ,now our needs are unlimited ,so we run after money to fulfill our needs or desires. We don't find time for regular exercise. We have vehicles. We use them even at the nearest places.It means we don't walk though walking is a good exercise. We live stressful life .We eat over processed, packed, junk food.We eat artificially ripened fruits .We eat vegetables that are produced by using chemical fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides.It means we take slow poison in our body in the form of shiny fruits and vegetables. Friends, in this computerized age,we spend several hours before sitting it for our work but it also affects our health. It affects our eyesight and even brain also.It creates obesity or digestion problem also.
Well , friends, why am I telling all these things ? Yes, because , all these things affect our health gradually.
Friends, we all know *Sound mind is in sound body*.It means if our body is healthy, our mind will be healthy. And if our mind is healthy, we will enjoy the wealth that we have. So , *health is the real wealth*.
The WHO also advocates healthy life. We all know the work of WHO during the pandemic of covid. Our Indian government also tried its best through the campaign of Vaccination for keeping the citizens infection free and healthy during covid and post covid also. Why ? Because if the citizens are healthy, they will work properly and if they work on a large scale, the nation will prosper. It seems , Nation's real wealth is healthy citizens.
Well, friends, you should keep yourselves healthy. And for it , you should follow certain tips.
1) Eat fresh naturally ripened fruits, organic vegetables and healthy nutritious, balanced diet including vitamins , proteins ,fats, minerals, corbohyrates and so on.
Avoid junk food like Pizza , Burgar, Noodles,Chips and so on.
2) Do regular exercise ,yoga and meditation.
3) Do regular medical check up after the age of 40 and follow the doctors.
4)Take sound sleep and remain stressfree.Go to picnic with you family once in a week and enjoy the life and remain peaceful.
5) Connect with nature means enjoy the life by going in the company of nature.
6) Take sound sleep as it is called half medicine.
7) Don't sit before the screen of computer , laptop or mobile for a long time.
8) Don't spend / spoil your health for earning money. Otherwise , you will have to spend money for regaining your health .But it can't be regained as it is. If we have wealth and we are bed-ridden, there will be no use of our wealth. Because we can't enjoy our life by spending money in such situation.
Friends, I hope that you understood very well the importance of health in our life. So, remember *Health is wealth*.
